Where are we and how do you get here?

Driving:
Hervey Bay is 280kilometres North of Brisbane on the Bruce Highway. Just drive North, turn off to Maryborough and follow the signs a further 38k to Hervey Bay. This takes about 3 hours. One third of the way is good 4 lane highway.
Stop at picnic areas along the way eg. at Gympie there are lovely lakes and ducks.
As you drive into Hervey Bay you are then on Boat Harbour Drive. Follow this for about 12k until you come to a roundabout with Woolworths on the left. Turn left at the roundabout into Elizabeth Street, then 2nd right into Miller Street, drive up past the school and "All Sea Dogs Ahoy" is on the right at 65 Miller Street. There is a sign on the front fence so you can't miss it.

Cooloola Coloured Sands
Drive up the beach from Noosa instead of taking the Bruce Highway.
Plan your trip well ahead .
You need a 4WD for this and a permit from parks and wildlife to visit Fraser Island.
Plan to catch the low tides and take time to explore as you travel and check barge times before you leave. You may need to stay overnight.
Double Island Point Lighthouse
From Noosa cross the Noosa River by barge from Tewantin, then travel North up the Cooloola coloured sands beach at low tide, crossing over Double Island Point headland, then up the beach to Rainbow Beach township past more coloured sands. Drive further North up the beach to Inskip Point then catch the barge over to Fraser Island then travel at low tide up the ocean beach on the Eastern side to Eurong. Cross over the island to the Western side and catch the barge across to Urangan Point, Hervey Bay and drive 350m from the barge landing up Miller Street to "All Sea Dogs Ahoy".
